Summer Sneak Peak

So today was a glimpse of what our summer is going to be like.  Nothing spectacular but playing with the kids makes me happy.  I just need to make sure Brooke gets her nap before we head to town. YIKES. 

Spring Turns To Summer

Braxton came up to me and asked me what the difference between spring and summer is.  He said he knew spring started in March and wanted to know when summer starts.  I explained to him that "spring is when the snow melts and the farmers can start to plant.  But when it is"  ...... he then interupted me and let me know that in summer mom doesn't have to go to work so we can go swimming, camping, hiking, and play all day long.

I looked at him with a smile and said "EXACTLY." 

Summer is less than 3 weeks away!

Graves Disease

I noticed I first had a problem in January and February when I almost passed out teaching Gospel Doctrine class at church.  I would get so hot up there teaching and I would be sweating so bad and get really dizzy.    After the fourth time this happened to me, I decided to go to the doctor.  They did some blood work and it came back and confirmed what the doctor had thought.  I have the type of hyperthyroidism called Graves Disease.   My overactive thyroid has made me extremely nervous, gives me a fast heart beat, has made it hard to go to sleep and stay asleep, my legs and hands have tremors, I am extremely irritable, and have lost about 10 pounds.  

After 1 and 1/2 months of appointments I finally went to the hospital this weekend to get my thyroid killed with radioactive iodine treament.  My thyroid should be starting to slow down in about 6 weeks and this all should be sorted out in the next 6 months.  I am ready for things to start to get better.
